Baturaja-OKU, – Lomba perahu dayung di desa Tanjung Kemala yang merupakan desa kelahiran dari Bupati OKU Drs H Kuryana Azis , berlangsung sangat meriah dan membuat inspirasi bagi Bupati untuk turut mencoba menggelar lomba perahu dayung dalam even yang lebih besar .

Bupati Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Drs H Kuryana Azis mengatakan perlombaan ini baru pertama kali dilaksanakan di pusat Kota OKU yakni Baturaja. “Ternyata animo warga sangat baik, bahkan setiap kecamatan yang ada di OKU bersedia mengirimkan warga-warga terbaiknya untuk ikut serta dalam kegiatan lomba perahu dayung yang pertama kali digelar secara besar ini. Bahkan panitia kelabakan dengan membludaknya peserta jika tidak dibatasi,”kata Kuryana saat membuka lomba perahu dayung.

Lebih lanjut Kuryana menyampaikan, bukan hanya untuk memeriahkan akhir tahun saja dirinya membuat kegiatan ini, tapi tujuannya untuk menyatukan OKU. Dalam artian pada 13 kecamatan yang ada banyak suku dan Kuryana menginginkan kerukunan antar suku akan terjalin dalam kegiatan tersebut. “Jangan memandang hadiah, karena hadiahnya tidak seberapa, yang terpenting tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan ini untuk memupuk rasa kebersamaan. Sekalian juga untuk menyatukan seluruh suku yang ada di OKU mulai dari Ulu dan Ilir,”Kata Kuryana.
Ditambahkannya, nantinya Kegiatan ini akan diagendakan jadi anggenda tahunan kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU). “Ini bukan ajang hura-hura tapi ini ajang dari rakyat untuk rakyat, mudah-mudahan semua berjalan lancar dan akan kita buat kegiatan ini jadi piala bergilir Bupati OKU. Kegiatan ini nantinya akan dievaluasi untuk rencana penyelengaraan kegiatan yang sama pada momen berikutnya,” tandasnya.(*@)
