Palembang – Acara Syukuran dalam rangka Peringatan HUT Ke-72 Kodam II/Sriwijaya dan HUT Ke-56 Korp Wanita Angkatan Darat (Kowad) yang digelar Kodam II/Swj di Pelataran Parkir Benteng Kuto Besak (BKB) Palembang, Jum’at (5/1/2018) berlangsung khidmat, semarak dan meriah.Acara yang dipimpin langsung oleh Pangdam II/Swj Mayjen TNI A.M. Putranto, S. Sos., dan dihadiri oleh Menteri Pertahanan RI Jenderal (Purn) Ryamizard Ryacudubeserta Ny. Nora Ryamizard, Kapolda Sumsel Irjen Pol Zulkarnain, Gubernur Sumsel H. Alex Noerdin, Mantan Pangdam II/Swj Mayjen TNI (Purn) Iskandar M. Sahil, Danrem 044/Gapo Kolonel Inf Kunto Arief Wibowo, para pejabat Teras Kodam II/Swj,serta skpd pejabat pemerintah kota dan provinsi Sumatera Selatan ,merupakan puncak dari rangkaian peringatan hari jadi Kodam II/SWJ.
Pada kegiatan tersebut Pangdam II/Swj Mayjen TNI A.M. Putranto, S. Sos. Memberikan bantuan berupa bingkisan kepada masyarakat sebanyak 500 orang yang terdiri dari masyarakat kurang mampu, anak-anak yatim, tukang becak dan pedagang asongan.
Dalam sambutannya , Pangdam II/SWJ mengatakankan bahwa, Kodam II/Swj sebagai bagian integral dari TNI/TNI Angkatan Darat dan sekaligus sebagai bagian dari masyarakat Sumsel, Jambi, Lampung, Babel dan Bengkulu, tetap konsisten dan bertekad untuk terus membenahi diri dan meningkatkan kualitas pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Bangsa dan Negara. “Kami menyadari sepenuhnya bahwa masyarakat adalah ibu kandung prajurit Kodam II/Swj dan kemanunggalan dengan rakyat adalah roh pengabdian serta tulang punggung kekuatan Kodam II/Swj. Kodam II/Swj dengan masyarakat tidak terpisahkan dan tidak boleh dipisahkan”, tegasnya.
Oleh karena itu sambungnya , Kodam II/Swj ingin terus bersama-sama, bersinergi dengan Pemerintah Daerah dan rakyat mewujudkan Indonesia yang berdaulat, mandiri dan berkepribadian sebagaimana tema Hari Ulang Tahun ke-72 Kodam II/Swj tahun 2018 ini, yaitu, “Manunggal Dengan Rakyat, Kodam II/Swj Kuat”. “Kami juga mohon doa restu dan dukungan dari seluruh masyarakat agar tekad pengabdian Kodam II/Swj kepada masyarakat, Bangsa dan Negara senantiasa berada pada arah yang benar”, ungkapnya
Terkait dengan masih adanya tindakan oknum prajurit Kodam II/Swj yang tidak sesuai dengan harapan masyarakat. Pada kesempatan tersebut, Pangdam II/Swj juga menyampaikan permohonan maaf yang setulus-tulusnya, atas sikap, ucapan dan perilaku yang kurang berkenan di hati masyarakat.
